Chart of the Day

NIFTY SmallCap 100 Index: Breakout or Breakdown

Chart: TradingView

Inverse Head and Shoulders Pattern:

  • The daily chart indicates a potential inverse head and shoulders pattern, a bullish reversal formation.

  1. Resistance & Breakout Zone:

  2. The neckline resistance is around 15,606, which needs to be decisively breached for a confirmed uptrend.

    • A breakout above this level could trigger further buying interest.

  3. Support Levels:

    • The index is currently holding support around 14,880–14,900, which aligns with recent lows.

    • A breakdown below this zone could negate the bullish setup.

  4. RSI Indicator (Relative Strength Index):

    • Current RSI is 35.64, which is close to the oversold region (below 30).

    • Bullish Divergence? RSI has started rising slightly, indicating potential strength.

  5. Overall Trend & Outlook:

    • Short-term: Cautiously bullish if it sustains above 15,000 and breaks 15,606.

    • Medium-term: Needs a strong breakout with volume confirmation to shift trend upwards.

    • Bearish Risk: If the index fails to break out and drops below 14,800, further downside risk exists.

To Conclude:

A bullish reversal is possible if the inverse head and shoulders pattern plays out with a breakout above 15,606. However, failure to sustain current levels could lead to further weakness. Watch for volume confirmation on a breakout.
